Ruth D. Sherman

Dr. Ruth Sherman has more than two decades of senior level academic experience in higher education. She has served as Dean of Continuing Education and Community Services at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA, Vice President of Academic Affairs at the Community College of Rhode Island, and Assistant Dean for Planning and Development at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston.

Prior to joining Curry College, Dr. Sherman served as the Director of National College Access Programs at The Education Resources Institute where she facilitated national partnerships to strengthen college access, preparation, and success for underserved populations. Dr. Sherman brings extensive experience in developing new academic programs, creating educational partnerships with business and industry, expanding and managing satellite campuses, and fostering teamwork to accomplish strategic goals.

Dr. Sherman earned her undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a master's degree in Education from Northeastern University, and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has authored many articles on higher education issues, presented at national conferences, and served on numerous advisory boards.
