Professional Advancement Funds

College funds are available to faculty for reimbursement of expenses.  An overview of accounts and procedures is found below.

Dean’s Fund for Professional Advancement
Part-time and full-time unit members may apply to the Dean’s Fund (Professional Development Funds) for financial support.  Normally, this is a reimbursement account; however, in some cases, the College may provide an advance based on projected costs.  The faculty member must complete the form that is found on the Common Drive (in the folder called Forms - Dean's Fund Form).  The form can be typed or hand written.  Please attach conference materials.  Once the Dean reviews the request, you will receive a copy of the completed approval form.

After the conference or event has occurred, a Check Requisition Form needs to be completed with the Faculty member’s name and address as the vendor.   This form, which is also on the Common Drive, can be found in the folder called Forms, subfolder Finance, titled Check Requisition (Excel format).  The administrative assistant in your department can also provide you with a copy.  Please forward that form with original receipts to the Dean’s Office.

Faculty Fund for Professional Advancement
Part-time and full-time unit members may also apply to the Faculty Fund for Professional Development to attend scholarly and professional meetings, to support scholarship, etc.  Application for funding must be made to the Faculty Welfare Committee following its guidelines and deadlines for submission of request and receipts.

Individual Memberships
Full-time faculty can e-mail the Dean your request for reimbursement for individual memberships.  Once you have received approval, please complete the “check requisition” form (same as above) with your name and address as the vendor, the same form for Dean’s Fund reimbursement.  Please forward the original receipt and/or a copy of the front and back of your check, with the check requisition form to the Dean’s Office for processing.

Part-time faculty can apply to the Faculty Welfare Committee for approval of reimbursements for individual memberships.

Cap and Gowns
For Commencement, the College pays full rental costs of regalia (cap, hood and gown) for all unit members who register to receive such regalia from the College Bookstore, and who attend the graduation ceremony.
