BS for Registered Nurses

The Job Market

Currently, career opportunities abound in the nursing profession and there is a critical shortage of nurses equipped to take on new roles that require leadership and management skills as well as solid foundations in nursing practice. Opportunities exist in the more traditional areas of acute-care hospitals, long term care facilities, and rehabilitation centers. Program Features

Offered through the Division of Continuing Education and the Nursing Division, the program is designed specifically for RNs interested in earning a baccalaureate degree. Accreditation

The Curry RN to BS program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In addition, Curry College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc (NEASC).

*These courses are usually transferable from your basic program if taken on the college level. A grade of C or better must be achieved in the prerequisite science courses and labs.

Required courses for RN to BS Program:

We suggest that you begin your studies with NSG 2100, RN Transition, but you may take any of the 2000 level nursing courses. 26 nursing credits are required for the RN-BS program. You must achieve a passing grade of “C+” (77) to pass all nursing courses:

Required Upper Level Liberal Arts courses:
A minimum of two (2) upper level liberal arts courses at the 2000/3000 level must be completed at Curry College.
*Degree students will receive 34 nursing transfer credits upon successful completion of NSG 2100/RN Transition.

Apply

Apply to the continuing education RN-BS program whenever you're ready. Curry has no application fee. You can enroll in most continuing education courses while you're compiling the application materials.  Once complete, we promptly review your materials and mail an acceptance letter to you. If you apply for financial aid, Curry's Student Financial Services Office will notify you after you are accepted about eligibility for a financial aid award.
