Yusef Galloway '10 - Communication

Yusef Galloway '10 was a man on a mission. He wanted to finish his degree, he wanted to transfer his previous credits, and he had his post-college plans set.

He was ready to make an investment in himself; he just needed a college that would make it all possible.

Curry College stood out because he was able to transfer his military credits to apply toward his degree.  He also liked the convenience of the class schedules, which fit into his busy schedule.

"The evening classes were good. The classes were with working professionals, so work and life experience came into play in the curriculum."

Galloway chose to major in Communication, and has already applied what he's learned in multiple facets of his professional life.

As a diabetic case counselor at Codman Square Health Center, the coursework has helped him communicate better with his patients.

And as a second lieutenant in the Army National Guard, Galloway has passed that knowledge along to his colleagues.

"The Communication classes at Curry helped because as a chemical officer in my battalion, I am responsible for teaching classes and giving instructions and briefs on missions."

Referring to his fellow Curry graduates, "Whether from high school or the working world, we all made the decision to complete a goal of finishing our education here at Curry College."
