The evening classes were good. The classes were with working professionals, so work and life experience came into play in the curriculum.

FINANCIAL AID

The Curry College Student Financial Services Office has staff that work exclusively with our continuing education students to provide advice, friendly service, and personal support. In addition to the regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Evening appointments are available. Please call 617-333-2354 to schedule an appointment.

Financial aid applications are considered on a rolling basis throughout the year. Students must be admitted to a degree program and must maintain half-time enrollment status (6 credits per semester for continuing education undergraduate students) in order to be eligible for Federal financial aid. Institutional aid is not available for continuing education students, but you may be eligible to receive federal and state grants and student loans.  Students should file financial aid paperwork at least two weeks prior to the start of the term to allow time for processing.

There are also alternative non-federal loans available for those students who are not admitted to a degree program; for students pursuing certificate programs, for those taking courses but not intending to earn a degree, and for those enrolled less than half-time. Please visit the Student Financial Services Office or call (617) 333-2354.

If you are applying for financial aid, your financial aid award is determined by calculating your cost of attendance for the academic year minus your expected family contribution which is determined by your FAFSA information.  Your cost of attendance is comprised of your direct costs for tuition and, if applicable, any additional fees plus other indirect related education expenses such as books and supplies, living expenses, and transportation costs, etc.  The total of your direct and indirect costs equals your cost of attendance.

Your Financial Aid Counselor will estimate your total cost of attendance by adding your tuition and fee cost Tuition and Fees to the following indirect expenses when determining your eligibility for financial aid.  The anticipated indirect costs for the 2011-2012 academic year are:

  • Books/Supplies* - $800
  • Room/Board** - $7,210
  • Transportation - $2,000
  • Personal - $1,000
  • Total Indirect Costs - $11,010

Note:  Indirect expenses are based on average costs expected for the academic year.

*Allowance is for those enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester.  The Books/Supplies Allowance is adjusted based on your actual anticipated enrollment.

**This allowance is for students who do not reside in a parent's or relative's home.

At any time during the calendar year, you can begin the process of applying for financial aid. Start early to be sure you'll meet the deadlines and qualifications. For assistance, contact the Curry Continuing Education Office nearest you and make an appointment with our advisor, or request information.
