Professional Writing
Professional Writing is a concentration of the English major
As with the concentration in Journalism, this concentration builds skills in writing and in adapting writing to different formats and requirements. The concentration provides a foundation and marketable skill for work in publishing, journalism, public relations, publicity, advertising, and media combining words and images. Practical skills include experience in desktop publishing and other related aspects of technology and the creation of a writer's portfolio. Those concentrating in Professional Writing should take an internship focused on professional writing arranged through Experiential Education. Students in the Professional Writing concentration must take five (15 credits) of the following courses:
