Environmental Studies

With the ever-increasing awareness of the impact of humans on their surroundings and vice versa, an informed citizenry is essential. Students selecting this minor can expect to deal with information about the physical environment, which will be directly applicable to changing the social environment by political means.

As such, the environmental studies minor is appropriate for, not only those interested in their personal surroundings but also, those who will be assuming leadership roles in their communities, businesses, government, and other organizations. The students' objectives will be to acquire skills useful in the work place, such as sampling techniques, collecting and understanding data, methods of effecting change, and understanding regulatory compliance. It also requires students to criticize, integrate, and synthesize ideas and information.
