Writing Center

Located on the second floor of the Levin Library, the Writing Center is dedicated to assisting Curry students with their written academic assignments. From help with an outline or graphic organizer, to the finishing touches and bibliography, our professional writing specialists and trained student writing consultants guide students through every step of the writing process. Our Writing Center professionals are not simply "proofreaders," and students who need assistance will not be allowed to drop-off papers for review. Rather, students can make appointments to meet with Writing Center specialists and consult about their topics, outlines or revisions. In the Writing Center, our professionals pride themselves on providing excellent customer service and helping students become better writers and more independent learners.

Students are permitted to sign-up for two half hour appointments per week in the Writing Center at no charge. If no one is signed up for the following appointment, students may stay for an additional 1/2 hour appointment.

Students may make an appointment on the Writing Center kiosk outside the Writing Center(Levin 202), or by clicking on the Writing Center Online link to the right. Before students make their first appointment, they must first create an account. It is suggested that students use their Curry email address and password when they register as a new user.

SMARTHINKING

SMARTHINKING is a supplementary online tutoring service available to Curry students. With SMARTHINKING, students can access online writing assistance from any convenient location. Visit the Writing Center to receive a username and password, and guide to using SMARTHINKING effectively.
