Class Notes

Kimberly Koenig '01 writes, "Hello Curry! These past two years have been very busy. I moved out of Hyde Park and now currently live in Westwood, MA. I have been engaged to Bobby Gelormini since July 27, 2001 and we are having a fall wedding which will be held at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury. Our 1.5-year-old pug named Bugsy obtains most of our time. He is the best! And one last thing…can someone please tell Matt Bloom to move back to Massachusetts; Florida is too far away! Keep at it 2001…I am sure you are all doing well."

'02

Nicole Bello '02 writes, "Louie and I had a baby. We are so excited. I hope everyone is working at their dreams and goals."

Lauren S. Levine '02 was recently hired as a Marketing Specialist for Iron Mountain, DSI Escrow Services in Billerica, MA. Her responsibilities include creating new marketing plans and marketing strategies. Her
future plans are to continue her education, pursuing a master's degree in Business Management.

Jeffrey Davis Perry '02 was elected State Representative for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2002.

Derek Cook '02 writes, "I received an accommodation for my work with the Behind the Walls Program. Behind the Walls is similar to the Scared Straight Program in which youth between the ages of 10-14 are taken to the Hamden County Correctional Facility located in Ludlow, MA. Once there, they are given the 'Inmate Experience.' This experience allows incarcerated individuals to explain how the wrong choices they made led them into jail. I have taken roughly 2,000 youths (from 1998-2003) through this program."

'03

Charlie Roberts '03 is living in Athens, OH. He is enrolled in a graduate program and is working as a graduate assistant at Ohio University.
*Ken Coleman, Voice of the Boston Red Sox, got his start as a student at Curry College in the mid-1940s studying radio broadcasting. According to his son, Coleman's broadcasting ambitions began around age 12 when he was shot in the eye with a BB gun and his dreams of becoming a big league pitcher died. He went on to become the broadcaster whose resonant voice carried Boston Red Sox fans through some of their greatest victories and biggest disappointments. He was also one of the founders of the Red Sox booster club, the BoSox Club, and was involved with the Jimmy Fund, serving as its second director.

*Richard "Dick" Sinnott '55, Boston City Censor and neighborhood columnist, served for 12 years on the Curry College Alumni Board and taught as an adjunct faculty member. He was a familiar face on campus to many: lecturing to classes, attending events, and welcoming new students into the Alumni Association before graduation each year. He will be remembered as one of Curry's best press advocates, as he often spoke of Curry in his weekly syndicated column, The City Scene. He is survived by his wife, Una, four sons, and six grandchildren. He will be missed.
