Welcome to Kevan Joyce '90 Incoming Chairperson of the Alumni Council

We are pleased to welcome Kevan Joyce '90 as the newly appointed Chair of the Curry Alumni Council. Kevan's strong leadership, enthusiasm and commitment to Curry will certainly lead to good things in 2005.

For Kevan Joyce, Curry provided the small college atmosphere and personalized educational experience that he was looking for in a college. He adds, "I was very much involved in ice hockey and it was important to me that the athletic programs be competitive. Like many folks coming out of high school, I look back now and my decision criterion in selecting Curry probably wasn't the most sound, but it paid off in the long run and I'm very happy with my decision. I met many of my closest friends and colleagues, including my wife, Kathleen (Kathleen Lyon, Class of 1992) while I was a student at Curry. The hockey p rogram provided me a platform to learn about leadership, teamwork and determination. Folks like Bill Stewart and Ken Quigley were critical mentors in my personal development.

Over the past several years, I've seen Curry making tremendous improvements in many areas that I believe demonstrate its commitment to building one of the premier colleges in the Northeast. Significant investments have been made in facilities, academics and extra-curricular programs. These investments continue and I believe that with President Quigley and his current management team, the College is well positioned for continued growth and success. I believe that there are many opportunities for the alumni to play a role in the advancement of the college and I'm excited to be working with the Alumni Council in exploring these opportunities in the coming months."

Kevan is currently the Regional Director for Serena Software, the world's largest independent provider of software change management solutions. In this capacity he is responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and business development for the Northeast Region which represents approximately $50M in annual re venues to Serena. He has over 15 years of experience in building software companies. Kevan and Kathleen live in Pembroke, MA with their two daughters Kaitlyn (7) and Kristen (3).
