Trustees Approve New Academic Facility

Construction Underway for September 2006 Opening

Given final authorization by the Board of Trustees at their February meeting, President Kenneth K. Quigley, Jr. announced plans for construction of a new Academic Facility on the Academic Quadrangle.

This new facility will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, faculty office suites and break-out facilities. Additionally, the building will house a multi-purpose auditorium capable of hosting a wide range of academic and student affairs programming such as lectures, theatre productions, academic meetings and numerous other events.

Connected to the Levin Library, this construction will also allow for additional gathering space in the connector. This

space, like the auditorium, will provide the opportunity for significant academic and student affairs programming. Additionally, the construction will allow our College to make ADA and other gains with respect to the adjacent Levin Library.

As with all of the other accomplishments of our great institution over the years, this facility — important for what it will allow to occur within it — is a tribute to the mission of Curry College and the people of Curry College.

The College is grateful to the Board of Trustees for their willingness to undertake the risk associated with this new academic facility and for their philanthropic support of the facility.
