RECORD SETTING PHILANTHROPIC '03 SEEN AS BUILDING
BLOCK
Philanthropically, FY 2003 will be remembered as an important
foundation in creating a culture of philanthropy at Curry College.
FY 2003 concluded with nearly $2.7 million in support for Curry
College compared to a previous high of $900,000. This success
is viewed as only the first of many building blocks in creating
a highly successful fund raising program for Curry College in
the months and years ahead. |
'03 -'04 Annual Fund Continues
to Grow
Alumni, parents, and friends of the College have been sent the
2003-2004 Annual Fund appeal and may have already heard from a
Curry student through the Annual Fund Phone-A-Thon last fall or
will likely receive a call in the coming weeks.
"We are pleased with the ongoing support of a growing number
of alumni and parents for the annual fund," noted Lynda Ardito,
Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, who is also responsible
for the Annual Fund. "Regardless of the amount, each gift is important
and appreciated since it all goes to the support of our students
and our mission." If for some reason we have missed you or you
misplaced the appeal, please contact Lynda at (617) 333-2121 or
lardito@curry.edu to make
your gift to the Annual Fund. Our students are counting on you.

Faculty and Staff
Provide Record Support to FY'03 Annual Fund to Establish Two Campus
Memorials
Posting a 500% increase in both the amount and the number of
gifts, the faculty and staff of Curry College demonstrated their
commitment to the College through the 2002-2003 Annual Fund. The
result will be two beautiful memorials on campus to remember beloved
colleagues who have passed away. Named for former PAL faculty
member, the David Van Someren Memorial Garden will be located
behind the PAL building. Long time Building and Grounds staff
member Al Lynch will be remembered through a campus beautification
project. |
The Abington Savings Bank Charitable Foundation donated a total
of $140,000 to Curry College to establish a new scholarship designed
for an incoming first-year student who is a resident of Dorchester.
The scholarship provides tuition, required fees and on-campus

four years of study as long as the recipient remains in good academic
standing.

Office for her intelligence, maturity, leadership in school and
community, and excellent academic record, was selected as the

Academy, where she received many honors and participated in numerous
activities including membership in the National Honor Society
