Improvements Slated for the D. Forbes Will Athletic Complex
At its Fall 2003 meeting, the Curry College Board of Trustees
focused on the future and overall student athletic needs when
they approved plans to build the Walter M. Katz Field at the D.
Forbes Will Athletic Complex. Partially funded through a philanthropic
gift from former Chairman of the Board Dr. Eleanor M. Katz and
her son Walter M. Katz '89, the new "Field-Turf " field will be
used by the football team, men's and women's soccer, lacrosse
programs, and baseball and softball team practice and intramurals.
Improvements slated for Phase I of this project include a new
all-purpose surface on the main playing field; new home-side spectator
stands to accommodate twice the number of fans; a new, technologically
smart press box; and lights to allow for night games and practices.
Phase II plans call for the construction of a concession area,
restroom facilities, and improvements to the other fields. Phase
III will focus on rebuilding the parking lot and completing the
field improvements including in-ground sprinklers for all game
and practice fields. The new field will be complete for the 2004-2005
year with a dedication ceremony scheduled for Homecoming on Saturday,
October 16, 2004. Plan now to join us.

Curry Rated "Investment
Grade" By Wall Street
After facing significant financial challenges
just eight years ago, Curry has emerged as a fiscally strong,
growing,"investment grade"entity. In Spring 2003, as part of the
process to secure bonds for the construction of the South Campus
Residence Hall, the College's bonds received an investment grade
rating from Wall Street's Standard & Poors. This speaks well to
every aspect of Curry and reflects a College that is exceptionally
wellmanaged and growing significantly in size and stature.
