Ed
Schroeder '66 writes, "As Construction Manager for Arcadis
Geraghty & Miller, Millersville, MD, I was recently transferred
to Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge located in Middletown,
RI. I am providing construction oversight to our client, The U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service and am responsible for the permanent closure
of the existing landfill, capping of the landfill, restoration and
re-vegetation of the affected acres, and the construction of tidal
saltwater marshes within 30 acres of the nearly 240 acres of this
beautiful refuge. I expect to be here through mid-2004. As I haven't
been on campus since 1966, my first road trip after arriving here
was to Curry and Homecoming. So many fond memories as I walked past
State, Lombard, Mayflower, and Scholars. I look forward to returning
to Curry before leaving Rhode Island for my next assignment. In
the meantime, any alumni in the area who are interested in the site
activity and site restoration of this refuge are welcome to stop
by! I will provide a firstclass tour of the work area." |
