Class Notes

Matthew Keats '83 writes, "Keats Southwest has just purchased the assets of Rio Grande Tool and Stamping in El Paso, TX and moved their 12 punch presses into its facility. Our 25,000 sq. ft. facility that we built a year and a half ago is now full. Thank God we can expand this building to 60,000 sq. ft. Business is booming on the border!"

Jean McManus Doyle ‘84 and Michael Doyle '85 were married in '87.

‘85

Michael Hogan '85 is pleased to announce that he and his wife Erin welcomed home daughter Julia Maureen Hogan born on October 16, 2003. She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and measured 21 3/8 inches long.

‘86

Joe Catalano '86 has been working full-time as a News Director and Program Director at WJDA since 1989. Before that he had on air positions at WCDJ, WJIB, WEZE, and WATD. He was also Production Director at WBZ for three years.

Marc Coopersmith '86 was elected to the Board of Directors of J.B. Hanauer & Co.

Richard Mahanor '86 is still in the communications field! He served 18 years at WATD-FM and five years now at the Talking Information Center. The Talking Information Center is a non-profit radio-reading service for low-vision and blind population. TIC reads printed material "turning it into sound" for this section of the Massachusetts population. Up to 20,000- blind/low-vision people tune in on a daily basis.

‘87

CORRECTION... Paul Clerici '87 is currently a freelance writer and photographer after having worked nearly 10 years on a newspaper as the sports editor, photographer, and editor.

William Davenport '87 lives in Kingston, New York with his two children.

Bethann R. Grabelsky '87 is working as a Real Estate Agent for Prudential Preferred Properties in Chicago, IL. Since starting her new career in January she has made seven deals. Ernest (Chip) Marchi '87 married Jennifer Kennedy, in May '98. He received a master's degree in Education from UMass in June 2000. His son, Tyler, was born in March 2002 and his daughter, Tess, was born in November 2003. His dad is still teaching at Curry!

Cynthia Kohll Persky '87 and her husband Joshua gave birth to a baby girl named Isabella Delrogh Persky. They are currently living in New York City.

‘88

Karen Maglio Allen '88 and her husband Dean bought a house in Marion, MA in October 2003.

Pete Esposito '88 was a Production Assistant/Associate Producer at ESPN in Bristol, CT from 1988-1994. From 1995-2000 he was the Director for the Golf Channel in Orlando, FL. Since 2001, he has been the Freelance Director where he directs golf tournaments for the Golf Channel, USA Network, and CNBC.

Matthew Carmen '88 has been employed at Fleet Boston Financial for five years.

‘89

David Blumberg '89 married Jacqueline Marzano in 2002. They have a son, Benjamin, age 2 1/2 and are expecting another baby in May.

Kimberly Rasmus Loycano '89 writes, "I am a very happy stayat- home mom and care for my 3-year-old son, Evan. I also do volunteer work with atrisk/ abused children in the Connecticut Mentor Program. I also graduated from the University of CT with a master's degree in social work in 1998.

Maureen Casey Wickersham '89 and her husband, Mark, recently welcomed their second daughter into the world. Jaclyn Wrenn Wickersham was born in June 2003 and joined older sister, Kathyn, who is 2.

‘90

Tim Puttre '90 was named "Producer of The Year" at the 2003 Radio MegBlast Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas. The ceremony is a part of the Radio Music Awards, which aired on NBC.

Jon Sevigny '90 and Sara Elesh '93 are celebrating their 7th Anniversary. (See their Curry Couples note on p. 23)

Joe Sullivan '90 is in his seventh year working on air at the NBC affiliate in Richmond, VA. He is a sports anchor at WWBT-TV and covers the Redskins, NASCAR, Virginia and Virginia Tech sports.

‘91

Cynthia Messer Boynton '91 reports that starting in 1992 she worked in various positions in local television including a position as a news director/anchor. In 1995, she won first place for Outstanding News Segment from Women in Cable & Telecommunication. In 1997, she was a reporter for WNNETV and then went on to work in Public Relations at Keene State College. She later became the director of PR & Communications for SIAA/San Group and then Director of Marketing for Fall Mountain Productions. She was married in 1998 and her daughter, Angelina, was born in November 2001.

Gayle McMillan '91 went to graduate school at Emerson College and earned a degree in Media Arts. She currently works at ESPN in Bristol, CT and works in Affiliate Sales and Marketing.

‘92

Aimee Beth Colgan Markussen '92 has been a stay-at-home mom for the past 3 1/2 years for her daughter Mackenzie. Aimee is disabled due to multiple sclerosis and is very active in a support group. She has been selling Avon for the past year and a half and has fun doing so.

Macy McNally Mietelshi '92 has been working in the advertising industry in account management. She lives in San Francisco, was married in 2000 and is currently expecting her first child.

‘93

Keith Crowell '93 works for Bone, Scale, Bone specializing in Oscar fish aquamarine maintenance. He married Andrea on Valentines Day 2003 and honeymooned with another Curry couple, Hal Halpin and his wife Alex.

Gary Ernsteen '93 and his wife, Jayme, announce the birth of their twins, born on June 27, 2003 - Aiden Myles and Hannah Gene. Their big sisters Megan, 5, and Brielle, 3, are very excited.

Andrea Kazanjian '93 married Neil David Krikorian May 10, 2003 and honeymooned in Hawaii. In attendance at their wedding were several couples from Curry; Mr. & Mrs. Michael Geaney '93, Brian Bohne '93, Mr. & Mrs. Hal Halpin '93, Mr. & Mrs. Alex Mooney '93, Keith Crowell '93, and Rick Shapiro '94.

Jason Lipman '93 and his wife MaryBeth welcomed their first child, Benjamin Louis on July 29, 2003.
