| Worcester Now Offers
Master of Education Program, Provides Home for Central Massachusetts
Principals' Center
In Fall 2003, Curry began offering the Master of Education program
at its Worcester campus. The first concentration offered was Educational
Foundations; all concentrations are now available including concentrations
in Education Administration; Elementary Education: 1-6, Reading;
Special Education; and Pre K-8. Curry College course participants
can also receive PDPs in accordance with the Department of Education
(DOE) requirements.
Curry College's Worcester campus is also pleased to provide a home
for the Central Massachusetts Principals' Center. The mission of
the Center is to foster leadership and management skills for new
and veteran principals and will offer exciting opportunities for
professional development and networking to principals and assistant
principals in Central Massachusetts.
The Center held its opening session in December 2003 with the return
of the popular Breakfast Series. Elizabeth Pauley from the Massachusetts
Department of Education and Ed Philbin, Superintendent of Schools
in Clinton, MA spoke on The Role of the Principal: Instructional
Leader or Manager?
The Principals' Center plans to provide a variety of offerings
such as prominent speakers, book and study groups, best practice
seminars, discussions of current issues, a Summer Institute, graduate
courses, and much more. |
