Ann Levin's class "Wealth, Poverty, and Social Class" welcomed
guest speaker Chuck Collins in November 2003.
Chuck Collins is co-founder of United for a Fair Economy, a Boston-based,
national nonpartisan organization concerned with America's growing
income and wealth gap. In 1997, he co-founded Responsible Wealth,
to enlist business leaders and wealthy individuals to speak out
for public policies to share prosperity.
Collins is co-author, with Bill Gates, Sr., of Wealth and Our
Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Accumulated Fortunes.
He also is the author of Economic Apartheid in America: A Primer
on Economic Inequality and Insecurity.
Collins is the great-grandson of Oscar Mayer.

Atty. Scott Harshbarger
Discusses Governance, Practice & Leadership Post
9/11 at DIOP Roundtable
Curry College welcomes Attorney Scott Harshbarger to the 9th Annual
DIOP Roundtable titled "Governance, Practice & Leadership Post 9/11."
Atty. Harshbarger joins Senior Lecturer Dr. Karen Lischinsky, Senior
Lecturer Dr. Souliy wan-N'Tani, and student Kristen Salera as part
of a panel discussion moderated by Sociology Professor Dr. Magueye
Seck.
Mr. Harshbarger has served as national President and CEO of Common
Cause, Attorney General for the state of Massachusetts, and Middlesex
County District Attorney, among many other positions of leadership.
He is currently an attorney at Hesse, Toomey, Lehane, a board member
of DC Vote and the Epilepsy Foundation, on the steering committee
for the American Public Health Association, and a principal for
the Council on Excellence.
A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Mr. Harshbarger
taught legal ethics at Boston University Law School, and was a Visiting
Professor at Harvard Law School and Northeastern Law School.

Next Littlefield Lecturer
The next creative writing lecture in the popular series led by
Writer in Residence and Professor Bill Littlefield will be held
in March 2004 featuring Boston Globe columnist and associate
editor Jackie MacMullan. Ms. MacMullan, who began her career with
the Globe in 1982, has been a senior sports writer for Sports
Illustrated (1995-2000) covering the National Basketball Association;
a regular contributor to CNN/SI, the 24-hour news network (1990-1995);
and an ESPN correspondent. She is currently a correspondent for
WHDH-TV in Boston and New England Sports Network (NESN).
Ms. MacMullan has won numerous national writing awards from the
Associated Press Sports Editors. She collaborated with Larry Bird
on his biography Bird Watching.
All community members are welcome to attend the lecture which will
be held on Monday, March 15 in the Parents' Lounge beginning at
