Curry College welcomed 50 alumni and parents to the New York Marriott East Side for the annual New York City Reception held on November 30, 2006. The event featured networking opportunities, socializing and a presentation from President Quigley and the Office of Institutional Advancement on the latest developments at the College.

Guests viewed photos of the new Academic and Performance Center and noted the wonderful opportunities it presents to the Curry College community. For most of the guests, it was their first look inside the state-of-the-art classroom building. The presentation featured shots of the Keith Auditorium, the Gregory T. Spagnoletti Stock Trading Classroom, the Ruping Family Conference Room and the Smart Market Cafe located in the building's atrium.

The reception was the largest in recent years and signifies a growing interest among the alumni population in having a connection with their alma mater. President Quigley noted that all alumni have an ongoing connection with our College as the value and prestige of their Curry College degree continues to increase each year.

President Quigley also encouraged alumni to take pride in the fact that the experience of students today is built on the experience of students in the past. The message resonated with three recent grads now living and working in New York. They bore witness to the many campus improvements over the last four years. They are proud that their participation as students and ongoing involvement as alumni make future additions like the Student Center possible.

Attending the event were current and past parents and alumni ranging in graduation years from 1973 to 2006. The event was also attended by Academic Dean Dr. David A. Fedo, National Alumni Council Chairman Kevan Joyce '90 and National Alumni Council members Alex Mager '92 and Todd Campo '92.

Alumni, Students, Faculty and Staff Interact in LA

On January 11, 2007 Curry College welcomed Los Angeles area alumni for a reception at the beautiful Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. Special guests at the event included Professor Jerry Gibbs, Professor Bob MacNeil and twelve television students who were in town for a three-credit program designed to teach them the inner workings of the television business. Their week-long trip included behind the scenes visits to such programs as Desperate Housewives, American Idol, According to Jim and many others.

Manager of Alumni and Parent Relations Christian Gordon and Manager of Donor Relations Alyssa Samuels led a photo presentation on the recent additions to the Milton campus. The presentation included architectural renderings of the Dean's Office addition under construction and the Student Center scheduled to break ground this summer. West Coast alumni appreciated the effort by the College to reach out to members of its community living 3,000 miles away.

Curry's past, present and future were not only demonstrated in pictures. The interaction between faculty, staff, students and alumni brought to life the commitment that each component of our community feels toward each other. Graduating from Curry College provides benefits that last a lifetime. None of which is more important than the ability to share ideas, provide support and interact across generational lines with people who share a common experience, the Curry College experience.
