Governor Deval Patrick, Hon. '97

As the summer wound down and the pace of the Democratic gubernatorial race picked up, the three democratic candidates for governor — Christopher Gabrieli, Deval Patrick and Attorney General Thomas Reilly — gathered together for a South Shore Issues Forum held on the Curry campus at the Alumni Recreation Center in August 2006.

The Forum was co-sponsored by Curry College, the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, The Patriot Ledger and Marshfield-based radio station WATD-FM 95.9 Radio. President Kenneth K. Quigley, Jr. served as moderator.

Milton resident and 1997 Curry College Honorary Degree Recipient Deval Patrick prevailed in the September primary and the general election defeating Republican candidate

and former Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healy, Independent candidate Christy Mihos and Green-Rainbow candidate Grace Ross.

Currier Times editor Sara Letourneau (Class of 2007) poses a question to the candidates.
