Curry's National Alumni Council is hosting a
Winter Alumni Reception in the new Student Center
on January 7 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. The
reception is a way of helping our alums reconnect with
old friends while enjoying Curry's newest centerpiece,
the Student Center.
The evening promises to be a terrific opportunity to
socialize and network with fellow alums while
catching up on all the news from campus. In addition,
President
Kenneth K. Quigley, Jr. will provide a College
update.

| Award-winning Filmmaker Presents to Criminal Justice Students |

On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, the Curry
Criminal Justice Honor Society, Lambda Alpha,
welcomed Boston Police Officer and documentary
filmmaker Bill Willis. The presentation was very well
received - kudos to the Honor Society for bringing this
great presentation to campus!

| ONE Curry's Book Drive for Liberia is a Success! |

In November, ONE Curry collected
books to send to Liberia through the Liberian Literacy
Foundation. This event was organized as a
competition by ONE.org 's ONE
Campus Challenge. Curry has now moved up to 24th
place in the country!

The Colonels winter sports season is well underway.

Men's
Basketball resumes
play on January 4 vs Brandeis at home at 6:00 PM.
The Colonels open conference play on January 9 at
Western
New England College.
Women's
Basketball is heading to
Florida to play in the Cruzin' Classic - see the related
story above. The team then resumes play on January
3 at home vs. Fitchburg State at 3:00 PM.
Ice Hockey takes a 7-0-1
record into Winter Break. The team resumes
its schedule against Norwich University in the
Times-Argus Tournament on January 1.

Thank you to all members of our community
who interacted with our student callers during our
Fall Phone-a-thon. Our student callers
enjoyed speaking with alumni. We received over 100
pledges during the fall semester.
We greatly appreciate alumni support in expanding
Curry's philanthropy program and we look forward to
continuing our Phone-a-thon
efforts in the spring.

Tom Butler '73 just celebrated 35 years with
United Airlines. He's been an Operations Supervisor
at O'Hare Airport in Chicago for the last 22 years and
he loves his job. His two children are now
tremendous adults and he has welcomed two
grandchildren so far.
Ruth-Ellen (Burack) Flanagan '77 and her
husband, Kevin, continue to enjoy living in Raleigh,
NC. Ruth-Ellen, Christine (Andrade) Cotter '77
and Susan Meagher '79 met for lunch in
Curry's new Student Center this summer and took a
tour of the campus to see the many exciting changes.
She credits Facebook with helping her reconnect with
many Curry alumni.
George Williams '88 has been married for 13
years and currently works as Hospitality and Security
Analyst for Accenture, a global consulting company.
Beverly (George) Grant '98 is a correctional
nurse and is pursuing her education and a career in
the military.
Amanda Gutterman '07 is working toward her
master's degree in Criminal Justice at Curry and
hopes to graduate this spring.

Southeastern University) on December 18-20
for the Cruzin' Classic.
