Internships

Internships - everyone is talking about them - students, parents, employers, professors. Make sure you don't miss out on having this great experience before you graduate.  Speak with your advisor about taking the pre-requisite course -EXP 2340, Intro to Experiential Learning - in the fall.  If you've already taken this course, sign up for a fall internship during course selection.

Undecided? Ever Thought About a Major in Sociology?

Are you undecided and looking for an area to major in? Are you good with people? Do you enjoy reading about various social interactions? Then perhaps you should consider majoring in Sociology. Sociology is the scientific study of society, including patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture. Sounds interesting, huh? Well really it isn't. Sociologists, that is those that hold PhD's in Sociology, merely study the common issues that affect our society and what can be done to prevent or improve them. Among those that decide to major in sociology, you will find that many non-profit workers, daycare workers, and even case workers hold bachelor degrees in sociology. A bachelor's degree in sociology is also a great entree into getting a master's degree in almost any field including education, social work, and even law. If the above things mentioned have captured your interest I encourage you to take Social Problems or  Perspectives on Society and Culture, two class which provide great insight to the world of sociology. Even if you decide not to become a sociology major, many of the classes count towards your multicultural credits and you will get to know some awesome professors!
