Status of your Financial Aid for Next Year

As the Spring semester is quickly coming to an end, the Student Financial Services Staff would like to remind students to stop by 79 Atherton Street to check on the status of their financial aid for next year.  Students can get an update on any documents that remain outstanding to complete their file and meet with a Counselor to review financing options for next year.  Students and parents may begin applying for alternative loans now.  Stop by for more information on the application process. 

 

Billing Information - Important Dates to Mark on Your Calendar

Mark your calendar!  Important Billing Information.

Bills for the upcoming Fall 2008 semester will be mailed to permanent home addresses on June 2, 2008 and are due by July 2, 2008.  Students can view their bill online by logging into CWIS.  For your convenience, payments can also be made online at this secure website
 www.afford.com/curry.

Campus Shuttle Information Hotline

  

By calling x3195, members of the Curry College community are now able to access all on and off campus shuttle information.

 

The new hotline works as follows:

 

Dial 3195 from any on-campus phone line or dial 617-333-3195 from any off-campus phone line

Important Commencement 2008 Information for Graduates

  
Senior, please take special note of infomation in blue text.
 

Commencement Tickets and Parking Permits: Four Commencement tickets and two on-campus parking permits have been mailed out to the campus mailboxes for seniors living on-campus and to the permanent addresses for seniors living off-campus. If you have not received them, you may have a financial hold and will need to resolve it with Student Financial Services which can be reached at 617-333-2354. If you do not have a financial hold, please call the Dean of Students Office at 617-333-2252.

 

Viewing of the Commencement Ceremony: Families and friends are all welcome to attend the ceremony and will have three options to view the Commencement Ceremony. Anyone with one of the four tickets mailed to students (see above) will be able to join us under the tent. Guests in addition to the four ticket holders are more than welcome to join us and will have either of the two following options; one, to join us in the Miller Gym and other designated viewing areas on campus to watch the ceremony live on a large screen or two, join us in the standing room area outside of the tent on the baseball field.

 
Please realize that the standing room area is a new option since our previous communications and was championed and added at the request of the Senior Class Officers.
 

Commencement Parking Options: Guest with one of the two Commencement on-campus parking permits, issued to graduates, clearly displayed on their car dashboard, will be directed to an on-campus parking space. Additional cars without an official Commencement parking permit will be directed to an off-campus parking site one mile from the campus, where shuttle transportation will be provided.
 
Graduates Eligible to Participate in Commencement: In order to participate in Commencement, a graduates needs to meet all of the following criteria:
1) Within nine (9) credits of degree completion
2) Has a GPA of 2.0 or better
3) Be in good financial standing with the College

4) Has not participated in the previous year's Commencement ceremony
 

Cap & Gown: This year's price on the cap-gown-tassel-hood package is $39.58 and will be available for purchase at the bookstore May 1, 2008. All seniors must complete a Senior Survey before purchasing their cap & gown at Career Services between May 1 and 16, M-F, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Once you have completed the survey, Career Services will give you a voucher to pick up your cap and gown. All regalia must be picked up by Friday, May 16.
 
Commencement Rehearsal: Will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the D. Forbes Will Athletic Complex. Graduates are required to attend Commencement Rehearsal.  At rehearsal, students will receive instructions as to where they will be placed in the Commencement procession. The class of 2008's salutatorian and valedictorian will also be announced at rehearsal.
 

Commencement: Sunday, May 18. Graduating students must arrive by 8:15 a.m. for formation of the procession process.  Students should gather on the Academic Quadrangle where they will receive instructions regarding the line formation.  If a student experiences difficulty with his/her cap and/or gown (i.e. size, etc.), representatives will be in the bookstore and have a table on the Academic Quadrangle to correct the problem. In the event of inclement weather, please report to the Hafer Academic Building.

Need an On-Campus Job for Fall 2008?

  
The Student Security Division is now accepting applications for the position of Student Security Officers for the Fall 2008 semester. Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time Curry College student and must be academically in good standing, a sophomore or higher as of the Fall 2008. Applications may be obtained at the Public Safety Office. Any questions regarding the position may be directed to Officer Jeffrey Lurie, Student Security Division Supervisor, by calling extension 3195 and selecting option 5.

Save the date!

  Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Student Center will be held in the Admission's parking lot.
