Iconic Sportscaster Bob Lobel Shares Stories with Communication Students

Former WBZ-TV sportscaster Bob Lobel stopped by Curry College on March 21 to speak to Lecturer Jim Young's Radio/TV Sports Broadcasting class. After covering Boston sports for nearly 30 years, Lobel had some interesting stories to share with Communication students.

Unlike many broadcast journalists, Lobel says he never read off the teleprompter, and instead read from his notes to make his delivery seem more natural. Lobel also spoke with fondness of his play-by-play work, which includes calling the Boston Marathon, Boston Celtics games and New England Patriots preseason games.
