The current guidance in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts does not allow gatherings of more than 25 people indoors and 50 people outdoors. This impacts the College’s usual event schedule, from Convocation to theater productions. We will continue to follow all state guidance in this matter, and will offer a robust schedule of small in-person and virtual offerings to engage our community in the meantime.
At this time, we are hopeful that it will be possible to hold traditional in-person Commencement exercises for both the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 in May; however, please be aware that these plans will be entirely subject to Commonwealth of Massachusetts mandates regarding gatherings, which are currently restricted to an extent which would not allow for these events. We will adhere to all federal, state, local and public health guidance and best practices in this respect, and will provide updates to the Curry community. Please visit the Commencement page for updates.
In keeping with our Welcome Week tradition, special events and programming were held during the week of August 10, culminating in a virtual Academic Convocation on August 17, the first day of classes. The College presented both in-person and virtual special events for student groups, as well as programming for all students on a variety of topics and areas including (but not restricted to):
Convocation was held virtually this year on August 17. Read the news story or watch the video.
Under current public health guidance, the College has determined that it will be necessary to hold Homecoming and Family Weekend virtually this year. Should that change, we will communicate with our community immediately. We look forward to providing a weekend full of opportunities for students, families and alumni to connect virtually with each other and with Curry! Visit Curry.edu/Homecoming for details.
