Curry College faculty are often recognized for their talent, skill, and dedication to their craft. For music program faculty members Anna Williams and Mikhail Veselov, that meant being nominated at the most prestigious music award show in the world-The GRAMMYs®.

Williams and Veselov received a GRAMMY® nomination in the Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance category with their music group, Neave Trio, for their recent album Musical Remembrances. Williams teaches private music lessons in violin at Curry, while Veselov specializes in cello.

“We are so proud of Anna and Mikhail for their GRAMMY® nomination with Neave Trio!” said Assistant Professor of Music Emily Howe. “Curry is fortunate to have a truly world-class music faculty, and it is thrilling that our violin and cello students have the opportunity to learn from such masters of their craft.”

“While we do not walk away with a trophy this time, what we do take home with us (is) the amazing experience of having taken part in a truly joyful celebration of an incredible community of artists. (It’s) yet another reminder of what a total privilege it is to get to do what we love, as well as inspiration beyond measure – it’s beyond priceless,” commented the group via their Facebook account.

Williams and Veselov are two of the many world-class instructors that teach music at Curry. Private music instruction at Curry is open to any student, no matter their experience. Deeply interdisciplinary and interactive, music at Curry is a means of personal expression and a platform for building connections across campus, into the greater Boston region, and around the world.
