PLEASE NOTE: Beginning in Fall 2021, Curry College will no longer offer a minor in Applied Computing. As an alternative option, feel free to explore our Management Information Systems minor.

The Applied Computing minor consists of a variety of related courses providing students with a practical understanding of the role of technology throughout our society as well as the techniques necessary to successfully meet their professional and personal objectives.

A minor in Applied Computing complements a variety of majors, including, but not limited to, Business Management, Criminal Justice, Communication, and Design.

An Applied Computing minor will develop proficiency within multiple areas of applied computing including the ability to select appropriate tools, solve complex problems and work effectively in both team and individual environments.

  1. Articulate how applied computing integrates with other disciplines
  2. Recognize cultural attitudes and their roles in the global society
  3. Identify lawful and ethical behavior in the technology profession and society at large
  4. Deliver information in a logical, efficient and effective manner utilizing visual and productivity tools to a select audience
  5. Determine the role of applied computing in organizations
  6. Recognize the need for technological lifelong learning
