What to Bring

The following items are suggested for students to bring when moving on campus:


  • Towels (bath, hand, and wash cloths)
  • Blankets
  • Bedding
  • Egg crate or memory foam mattress topper for added comfort
  • Twin-extra long mattress pad
  • Extra-long twin sheets
  • Pillow cases
  • Pillow(s)
  • Comforter

Laundry and Clothing Care
We currently use high efficiency washers in the residence halls

  • Detergent, stain remover, and fabric softener
  • Hangers
  • Iron and Ironing Board
  • Laundry basket or bag
  • Sewing kit

Personal Items

  • Shower tote/caddy
  • Mirror
  • Shower shoes or flip flops
  • Bath soap
  • Brush and comb
  • Hair styling products/appliances
  • Hair Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shaving items
  • Tooth brush and toothpaste


  • Calendar
  • Desk lamp
  • Dry erase board
  • Posters, photos & art work

Cleaning Supplies

  • Dish soap and sponges
  • Waste basket
  • Cleaning/ disinfecting wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Small vacuum/hand held vacuum
  • Hand broom

  • Alarm Clock
  • Computer
  • Ethernet cord for computer
  • Computer lock
  • Electric fan
  • First aid supplies/Medicine
  • Printer
  • Floor lamp
  • Room telephone
  • Surge protector and power strips
  • Refrigerator, no larger than 6.5 cubic feet and energy star rated (only one per room)
  • TV and cable cord
  • Phone charger
  • Microwave, not to exceed .7 cubic feet (only one per room)
  • DVD player
  • Removal poster tape to hang items on wall
  • Sports equipment (football, baseball, Frisbee, rollerblades, etc.)
  • Favorite DVDs

What to Not Bring

*The following items should not be brought to the residence halls

    • Small kitchen appliances - Electric appliances with exposed heating elements and/or designed for the preparation of food (including, but not limited to, hot plates, immersion heaters, indoor/outdoor grills and toaster ovens) are not permitted in student rooms. (except for suite style living)
    • Any outside furniture, i.e. Futon, couches, loveseats, tv stands (except for suite style living)
    • Air conditioners
    • Humidifiers or dehumidifiers
    • Firearms or weapons
    • Halogen lamps
    • Space heaters
    • Pets of any kind except for fish
    • Candles
    • Extension cords
    • Holiday lights
    • Hoverboards, self-propelled scooters and other similar devices
