Dr. Burnett joined Curry College in 2016.  Prior to coming to Curry, Dr. Burnett worked as a Registered Nurse and Nurse-In-Charge at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the intermediate care adult medical unit.  Her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) comes from Northeastern University where she explored the Impact of Art on Interprofessional Healthcare Team Collaboration and Communication.

Dr. Burnett teaches in both the traditional undergraduate and accelerated programs: Preparation for Health Care Professions, Conceptual Basis for Nursing Practice, Pharmacology, and Senior Seminar: Synthesis of Nursing Practice.  Additionally she coordinates the Conceptual Basis for Nursing Practice clinical and serves as a clinical instructor for Clinical Nursing Care of Adults I for the accelerated program.  

In 2017, Dr. Burnett won the DAISY Faculty Award.

Dr. Burnett has spent time volunteering with Cross Cultural Solutions in Lima, Peru, Operation Smile in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, and Global Vision International (GVI) in Dawasamu district, Fiji

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing, Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), American Association of University Professors (AAUP), American Nurses Association (ANA), and the Massachusetts/Rhode Island League for Nursing (MARILN).
