Linda M. Caldwell
Dr. Linda M. Caldwell has been a member of the Nursing faculty at Curry College since 1983; she was Chairperson of the Division of Nursing from 1998 - 2012. During that time she led the development of the Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program and the MSN /CNL program.
She is Board Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has expertise in urgent care, primary care, and occupational health. She has numerous publications and has presented at National and International conferences in China, Russia and Malta. Dr. Caldwell is a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing.
Dr. Caldwell currently serves on the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners, a national board elected by member deans of schools of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). She was Chairperson of the CCNE Board of Commissioners in 2012 and 2013 and Vice Chair in 2011. She also serves on the Accreditation Review Committee (ARC) of CCNE (2012-2016).
In April 2015, she was inducted as a Fellow in the National Academy of Practice (FNAP) as a distinguished scholar and practitioner. She was also a Fellow in the Society of Primary Care Fellows.
She is a past recipient of the MaryAnn Garrigan Award from Sigma Theta Tau's Theta Chapter-at-Large for Excellence in Nursing Administration and a past recipient of the Curry College Faculty Achievement award.
As a charter member of Theta-at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, Dr. Caldwell has held the offices of Vice President and Faculty Counselor. She is a member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Association.
Dr. Caldwell holds a BSN from Northeastern University, an MS in Nursing from Boston College, a Doctorate in Nursing Science from Boston University, and a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study in Primary Care from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Her interests include curricular innovations, accreditation issues, outcome assessment and the integration patient safety and quality concepts into nursing education.
