Joyce Cunha is a Lecturer in the Academic Enrichment Center. This is her 4th year teaching Competencies for Prospective Educators, the introductory reading course for Curry freshmen interested in becoming educators. In addition to her Curry position, Joyce is the 5th Grade resource room teacher at the John Marshall Elementary School in Dorchester and has been a Boston Public School teacher for the past eight years.
Joyce received her undergraduate degree at Harvard/Radcliffe College with a major in U.S. and Latin American History, and her Master's of Education at Curry College in Special Education (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities K - 8). Joyce also encourages young poetic voices as the co-host of the Lizard Lounge Poetry Slam in Cambridge.
