Don Gervich graduated from the innovative New College (Sarasota, Florida) where he studied literature, psychology, and religion. At Boston University he earned a doctorate in Education, with a dissertation on the writer /environmentalist, Henry David Thoreau.

In the Academic Enrichment Center, Don teaches mostly Fundamentals of Writing courses. He also helps students improve their reading and writing abilities in Competencies for Prospective Educators and in Academic Skills.

Don was a social worker at a state mental hospital (Kentucky) and taught homeless people (Boston). For 12 years he was a technical writer of training materials with two healthcare software companies (Massachusetts). Further, for decades he has been teaching creative writing-memoir and short story-at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education (Massachusetts).

Don's main reading interests are in memoir and fiction, biography and history. He has completed two memoirs, two novels, and two collections of short stories.
