Maureen is a Senior Lecturer at Curry College. She joined the nursing faculty in 2008 where she initially served as a clinical instructor for Pediatrics. Dr. Hillier has also taught Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Pediatrics and Senior Practicum students in the lecture setting at Curry College. In 2015, she served as faculty mentor for two nursing students in the Curry College Honors program. She also teaches for Northeastern University and maintains a part time staff nurse position in the MSICU at Boston Children's Hospital where she has worked for over 25 years.
Maureen's clinical interests include the care of the critically ill pediatric oncology patient and patients undergoing continuous veno-venous hemofiltration. Her doctoral research focused on newly licensed nurses' experiences with death and dying in the PICU setting which utilized hospital based simulation and professional actors to pilot a capstone project which has been adopted into the new graduate critical care program at Boston Children's Hospital. She lives in Westborough Massachusetts with her husband John and her four children.
