Dr. Melissa Weinstein joined the Community Health & Wellness program as an Assistant Professor in 2016. She graduated with her PhD from Indiana University Bloomington, where she concentrated on Health Behavior and Human Development, and earned her MPH from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a focus on Community Health Education. While at Indiana University, Dr. Weinstein worked as an Associate Instructor in the School of Public Health, was involved in various research projects and grants as a Research Assistant, and served as a Community Health and Wellness Coordinator and Educator within the University Health Center. Her presentations, publications, and further research ambitions focus on early childhood health, including childhood nutrition and obesity, as well as awareness around the HPV vaccine. Her dissertation examined the influence of culture and religion on attitudes, beliefs and behaviors around parent- child feeding practices for young children.
