The MESSA Project  (Media Education to Stop Substance Abuse) kicked off its inaugural event at Curry College in March. Dr Jeff Lemberg, Associate Professor of Journalism and Media Studies and Michele McGraw, Coordinator of Substance Abuse and Wellness, hosted the two-day event. Curry College students served as peer educators, teaching nearly two dozen Milton High School students about media literacy, social pressure, persuasion, and substance abuse prevention.

The Milton High students participated in hands-on workshops and developed their own digital media messages about substance abuse prevention.
