Mission and Training
<p>The mission of the Department of Public Safety is to provide a safe and secure living and learning environment for our entire community. The department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and consists of a Chief/Director, 12 full-time sworn police officers, three non sworn officers, one part-time non sworn officer, one dispatcher, and and an Administrative Assistant. Officers sworn as Special State Police Officers (SSPOs) have received Police Academy training and continue their training through in-service programs. Additionally all officers receive annual First Responder refresher training. All sworn officers have received National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System training offered by the Department of Homeland Security and the entire department has been trained in basic incident command.</p>
