Cole McNanna '18 (communication) was recognized as the Division 2 Sports Writer of the Year by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA), the largest association of girls athletics coaches in the nation. As the Sports and Education Editor for The Sealy News in East Texas, McNanna covers youth and high school sports, along with news, for the weekly newspaper.
In his introduction with the paper, McNanna said, "I went to college just outside of Boston in Milton and learned a lot both journalistically and about life. A lot of people's impact on me over those four years at Curry College will continue to resonate with me however far away I will be from the place I'll still call my second home." McNanna also received the Curry College Journalism Student of the Year award in 2018 for his work with The Boston Globe and Curry's own Currier Times.
