Curry College communication students are once again being recognized for their work on a national level. The National Broadcasting Society recently announced the finalists in their annual Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition. The NBS recognized eight Curry students for videos produced through CC8 (Curry College Television). Both of these pieces were aired on CC8 and are available on the Curry TV Youtube page. The students' projects were entered in two categories, PSA and Public Affairs.

Students/Alumni recognized as Finalists for “The Latest” in the Public Affairs category:

  • Stacy Sirkissoon '18


Students/Alumni recognized as Finalists for “Curry Hear Our Voice” in the PSA category:

  • Kelsey Davis (Class of 2019)
  • Zach Dervil (Class of 2019)
  • Lindsey Mason '18
  • Grant Micari (Class of 2019)
  • Sarah Simmons (Class of 2019)


The competition includes major colleges and universities from across the country, including Emerson College, the University of Florida, the University of Nebraska, and many others. The winners will be announced in March in Philadelphia.

“To be a finalist is a tremendous achievement because it means the video was among the best in the entire country,” said Director of Television/Digital Video and Professor Jerry Gibbs. “These two pieces, finalists in their categories, speaks to the determination of our students and the quality of their work.”
