School of Nursing Alumna travels to Haiti on a Medical Mission Trip

School of Nursing alumna Katie LeBlond '16 recently traveled to Les Cayes, Haiti, on a medical mission trip with the organization Forward In Health. 

Katie, a nurse on the surgical floor at Beverly Hospital says that "being able to immerse  myself in the Haitian culture is such an unforgettable experience. They are such strong, stoic people who are proud of where they come from and it is very admirable. I always knew I wanted to partake in a medical mission trip but decided to wait until I became a nurse. The nursing program at Curry College has helped me gain the courage and strength to be a compassionate and successful nurse allowing me to pass my love of nursing along to anyone I meet!"
