Milton Times Publishes Column by Rev. Terry Hofmann

The Milton Times recently published a column by Director of Spiritual Life Rev. Terry Hofmann. In the piece, which she wrote on behalf of the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association, Rev. Hofmann discusses how faith communities approach the issues of substance abuse and addiction.

"Unlike other diseases, substance abuse is often unfairly associated with shame and blame," Rev. Hofmann wrote. "As a result, individuals and families may feel pressure to keep silent, fearing exposure or even exclusion - even from their faith community." 

She calls on faith communities to join with other groups in raising awareness of substance abuse and offering support for those affected.
