Dr. Laurie Fox, Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) Professor, published a book review in the Fall 2018 issue of The Educational Therapist, 39(2), 22-23.  Critiquing two books, Real Happiness at Work by Sharon Salzberg and Thrive by Arianna Huffington, Dr. Fox said, "There are surprisingly familiar themes for happiness and thriving at work from two seemingly disparate authors: Sharon Salzburg, the insight meditation luminary, and Arianna Huffington, Forbes listee as one of the most powerful women in the world. We're reminded that, for those of us on the caring front lines, the balanced life is a necessary restorative bedrock."

Earlier this year, PAL Lecturer Philip Hulbig presented at the 23rd Annual Student Research Conference at Harvard University. He discussed PAL practitioners' experience teaching learning disabled students how to use metacognitive practices to research their own learning, experiment with their own achievement, and identify factors of their own success. In addition to his work at PAL, Hulbig also runs a Social-Emotional Support Classroom for Grades 3 and 4 (SSCII) in Attleboro and a metacognition-based skateboard program called Skate Whole Dojo.
