DHS STEM-Designated Program

The Curry College experiential on-campus MSCS is a STEM-designated degree, offering eligible international students extended post-graduation Optional Practical Training (OPT) opportunities in the United States.

The MS in Computer Science coursework consists of ten, 8-week courses (30 credits), including six hours of experiential education.

  • MSCS 7150/7155 – Software Project Management or Research Methods in Computer Science

Applied AI Track (12 Credits)

  • MSCS 7200 – Computer Vision
  • MSCS 7210 – Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models
  • MSCS 7220 – Human-Centered AI Design
  • MSCS 7230 – Machine Learning

Immersive Experiential Component & Capstone (6 Credits)

  • MSCS 7010 – Internship Experience (1 credit per term)
  • Note: For students unable to secure an external internship, the 6 credits of experiential learning can be seamlessly completed on campus through a robust Faculty-Led Capstone Project (MSCS 7610) or a Research Thesis (MSCS 7650) during your final term.

No CS Background? Our Computer Science Bridge Pathway Has You Covered

If your undergraduate degree is in a non-technical field, Curry offers specialized Bridge Courses to give you the fundamental coding and mathematical foundations needed to succeed. Applicants can pass proficiency exams in these areas or complete the following preparatory classes prior to starting core MSCS coursework:

Application Requirements

  • Completed online graduate application
  • Official undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) transcripts demonstrating an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • A recommended minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (Applicants with a GPA of 2.5–2.74 will be holistically reviewed for conditional enrollment)
  • Professional Resume and Personal Statement
  • $50 Application Fee

Curry College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) and is currently in the active process of securing U.S. Department of Education approval to offer Title IV federal financial aid for the new MSCS program.
