The ceremony marked a new chapter for Curry’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences and its commitment to expanding access, opportunity, and hands-on preparation for future healthcare professionals. The academic and social supports offered at the Labouré Center complement Curry’s nursing simulation labs, classrooms, and student spaces dedicated to serve nursing and health sciences students.

“This dedicated space reflects our commitment to expanding access for students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive environment where students can learn, grow, and prepare to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our communities,” said Michelle McMahon, Dean, School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

President Jay Gonzalez welcomed members of the Curry community and guests to the celebration, which featured remarks from President Lily S. Hsu of Labouré College of Healthcare; Massachusetts State Senator Bill Driscoll, Jr.; Massachusetts State Representative Richard Wells, Jr.; and alumni from Curry and Labouré. Guests also toured Curry’s simulation labs and academic spaces following the ceremony.

“This ribbon cutting ceremony marks an important milestone in the evolution of Curry Nursing,” said Michelle McMahon. “Through the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity, Curry College honors the Labouré legacy while uniting two longstanding nursing programs that have educated local nurses for many years. It has been a privilege to help guide this transition and witness the strengths of both programs shape our shared future.”
