Curry College is excited to introduce a new communication tool in 2022 —“Alex”—an artificial intelligence texting chatbot focused on student success at Curry. Alex can answer students’ questions and help to address any challenges students may face as a college student, on-demand, 24/7.
Alex will serve as a resource to connect students with support services and information about academics, financial matters, student life and involvement on campus and importantly the overall mental and physical wellbeing of our student population.
"We are excited to welcome Alex to the Curry community this spring!" said Ed Cabellon, Vice President of Enrollment Management. "Alex will build upon our existing personalized student support systems, scale on-demand access to vital resources and support, and proactively engage students throughout the semester in support of their success."
Over time, Alex will continue to learn about our students through these text exchanges and will also proactively engage with students on a regular basis in order to keep them informed and stay connected.
For the time being, Alex is primarily available to our undergraduate resident and commuter students but will eventually be available to broader audiences. Students will begin hearing from Alex during the week of January 17.
