Curry College’s Graphic Design Program proudly welcomed internationally recognized designer Marc English on Thursday, September 25 in the ThinkTANK Studio. As one of the top designers in the world, English is an award-winning designer, educator, author, and someone with a truly unique approach to creativity.

For over two decades, English has carved out a reputation for creating design that gets to the heart and soul of a brand. He has worked on a diverse range of projects, from corporate branding for Fortune 500 companies to iconic cover designs for The Criterion Collection.

His design work has earned recognition from numerous industry organizations, including the AIGA, the New York Art Directors Club, and Print magazine, and is held in the permanent collections of institutions like the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Germany.

Often described as a “design shaman,” his work blends a modernist aesthetic with a deep appreciation for history and storytelling. He approaches design with an intense passion and encourages what he calls "the ecstatic experience in the creative process". He's a teacher and a storyteller, not just a designer.

As our students prepare for their individual and unique design careers, Marc’s journey offered a powerful lesson: that design is more than just visuals. It’s about connecting with people, telling authentic stories, and finding the soul of a subject.
