College Joins Together Virtually for Homecoming and Family Weekend

Curry alumni, families and friends reunited online this past weekend for the College’s premier Homecoming and Family Weekend fall event. President Quigley welcomed guests on Saturday morning to kick off the weekend series of virtual events, which included:
- A behind-the-scenes look at a forensics course where students act as forensic scientists to analyze and document evidence in a mock crime scene on campus.
- A lively discussion of student political analysts offering their real-time analysis of the key factors influencing the outcome of the 2020 presidential race this fall, from the popular Electing the President
- A reunion and celebration of PAL as it marks its 50th anniversary in 2020.
- A cooking class where Curry Chefs demonstrate how to make spicy chicken penne, a Stu favorite on campus.
- Virtual tours including: Curry’s leading radio station, WMLN-FM; the new Student Art and Design Exhibit held in the Shelley Hoon Keith Gallery; and a walk-through of the latest Curry merchandise in the bookstore.
Alumni also gathered for reunion receptions, a game of music bingo, and a 5K race where CJ Flaucher, Nicholas Bell, and Kelsie Rainone led as the top winners.
"We are excited to have successfully executed an all virtual Homecoming and Family Weekend. More importantly, that our beloved alumni and families near and far participated, especially as we kicked off PAL's 50th-anniversary celebration and established the Friends of WMLN,” says Sally Murray, vice president of Institutional Advancement. “We thank everyone who joined us for these milestone occasions, and we look forward to hosting you in the future, pending public health recommendations!
