For his success leading HR operations, Neil Markoff '02 was recently awarded the OnCon Icon Award and named to the "Top 50 Human Resources Professional" list. Markoff - who currently serves as head of human resources at eGlobalTech, a management consulting firm in Arlington, Virginia - was honored with the distinction at the OnCon 2020 conference awards gala held January 17 in Orlando, Florida.

The OnCon Icon Awards recognize the top professionals and vendors in marketing, human resources, and legal. Nominees are voted on by professionals within each job function, and this year more than 4,500 votes were tallied to determine the award winners. Other awardees in the human resources sector include senior executives from MasterCard, the National Basketball Association, and Bank of America.

"It is a tremendous honor to be selected as an award winner, as the selection is based on peer recognition of performance, impact, and contributions. Winners represent many of the most senior leaders from the world's top organizations," said Sean Tomarelli, founder and CEO at OnConferences.

With more than 18 years in the industry, Markoff has held several successful leadership roles managing a spectrum of HR programs, services, and functions. Before joining eGlobalTech, he served as senior vice president of human resources at KETTLER, a real estate development and property management company. KETTLER Chief Operating Officer Cindy Fisher was among the colleagues that nominated him for the award.

"Neil came onboard in 2016 and has revamped what HR is all about at KETTLER. He has been a breath of fresh air and a true strategic partner and change agent for the business. His ability to connect with executives as well as on-site team members is truly remarkable," she said in the nomination letter.

At Curry, Markoff majored in business management and then continued his education at Marymount University, earning a Master's degree in human resource management.
