Dr. Elizabeth Wade is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Dr. Wade earned her PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut where she studied the population genetics and effects of hybridization between species of the singing insects, cicadas. Since 2015 she has been a postdoctoral fellow at the US Department of Agriculture: Agricultural Research Services studying the genomic architecture and evolution of two invasive fire ant species in the US and improving the use of green lacewings as biological control agents.  Dr. Wade's areas of interest include genetics, evolution, entomology, and bioinformatics.
