Sherika Casseus is an education and community engagement professional dedicated to expanding opportunity through research and student development. As the Literacy Project Manager for the Aicardi Early Steps Program, she leads community partnerships, research, and evidence-based literacy initiatives that empower elementary students to become confident readers and lifelong learners.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Education and a Master of Education in Higher Education Student Affairs, where her work has focused on student success through community engagement, and supporting equity-based research.

Sherika believes literacy is one of the most powerful tools for individual and community transformation. She sees investing in young readers as a meaningful response to educational inequity, believing that when children gain the ability to read, they gain access to knowledge, opportunity, and the power to shape their own futures.
