Lily Rivera joined the Curry College softball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2026, bringing collegiate head coaching experience at the NCAA Division II and Division III levels, along with a strong background in player development, recruiting, program operations, and leadership.

In addition to her role with the Colonels, Rivera serves as the Director of Player and Coach Development at Pure Skills Development in North Billerica, Massachusetts. In this role, she oversees player development initiatives, coach education, and training operations while fostering an environment centered on individual growth, accountability, and long-term success. Her work emphasizes developing athletes both physically and mentally while equipping coaches with the tools to create positive, effective learning environments.

Prior to joining Curry, Rivera served as the head softball coach at Franklin Pierce University, an NCAA Division II institution competing in the Northeast-10 Conference. She previously served as the head softball coach at her alma mater, Gordon College, where she helped rebuild the Fighting Scots softball program through recruiting, player development, alumni engagement, and fundraising initiatives.

Throughout her collegiate coaching career, Rivera has emphasized building strong team cultures, supporting academic success, and developing confident, independent young women through communication, trust, accountability, and meaningful relationships. She believes success extends beyond wins and losses and is reflected in the personal, academic, and athletic growth of student-athletes. Her approach focuses on creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their potential while preparing them for life beyond college athletics.

Before her collegiate coaching career, Rivera served as the general manager of KidStrong in Stratham, New Hampshire, where she gained experience in youth development, staff leadership, and coach education.

A five-year starter for the Gordon College softball program, Rivera brings firsthand experience as a collegiate student-athlete to her coaching approach. She holds a bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sport and Wellness and a master's degree in Financial Analysis. She is also an NFCA One Star Master Coach and a graduate of WeCOACH Class #56.
