Katharine Garrett Eastman joined Curry in February 2016 as the Director of Levin Library. She came to Curry from Becker College where she served as the Director of Libraries for five years. At Curry, Katharine has increased the library’s collaboration with the Faculty Center, Information and Technology Services, Academic Success and Support, Career Development, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, to further library engagement with and service to students in furtherance of the college’s priority initiatives. She serves on the college wide Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (LOAC), the faculty General Education Committee, ex-officio on the faculty Library & Information Resources Committee (LIRC), and a college-wide work group for one of the Strategic Planning Initiatives under Direction III for Diversity & Inclusion. Katharine’s expertise and interests are in the areas of information literacy, knowledge management, and library assessment. She is a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and its Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT), as well as the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and its New England Chapter(ACRLNEC), for which she serves on the board as the co-chair of the Leadership Development Committee (LDC).
